Vote For Me

When I was a child, I thought life was ordered and predictable.

I thought that the country was run by experienced grown-ups and that they knew what they were doing.

When I was a teenager, I wanted to cause a bit of chaos and anarchy. I dyed my hair, I wore daft clothes and listened to voices of rebellion. I still thought the country was run by a group of old retired businessmen who knew what they were doing.

When I became an adult, I started to harbor one or two suspicions about politicians… along the lines that suddenly they were my age or younger with little or no experience of the ‘real world’ issues that the general public have.

I then noted that… rather than people going into politics after running a successful business …they actually went into politics as a profession.

Now as an old man of some experience – I note that all politicians appear to be dishonest, lying, arrogant self-serving ass holes interested in one thing only…getting re-elected. To this end they will say and do anything which they believe will win them votes. They will then renege on their promises and cite lack of funds.

Maybe you shouldn’t have promised these things in the first place without looking at the cost implications of your commitments?

I’m not even thinking it’s worth reading anything that they say.

It appears we cannot believe a word that comes out of their mouths.

But …what can we do?
