Introduction

Japanese Knotweed Solutions Ltd (JKSL) understand that our customers care about the use and storage of their personal information and data.

We have therefore constructed this privacy policy statement to demonstrate our commitment to the privacy of our customers. By contacting us and engaging our services you are consenting and agreeing to the practices set out in this statement.

We will always handle information in compliance with the Data Protection Act (1998) and the new Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation.

What information we keep

JKSL only collect and keep the data you provide to us.

This usually consists of name, address, contact number, email address, home address, site treatment address, information relating to the Japanese knotweed enquiry and works on site. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list.

How long we keep it for

Your data will be retained for the appropriate period of time only in order to ensure that we are able to fulfil our contractual obligations to our clients and operation our business effectively in the future. See Japanese Knotweed Solutions Data Retention Policy for further details.

How we keep it secure

Computerised systems are protected with firewalls and antivirus software and are also monitored for breach by an external source.  All data is backed up off site and annual simulations of a breach are undertaken to ensure our systems are in full working order.

Our building is alarmed and monitored by an external security company and is serviced and checked every 6 months.

How we use it

JKSL will only use your data for the purposes of dealing with the contracted works.

Non-disclosure to third parties

The information and data we collect is important for JKSL and we would not want to share this with anyone else. Unless we have your express consent, we will never disclose, rent, trade or sell your personal data to any third parties for any purposes apart from where the works include an insurance backed guarantee (IBG). Where an IBG is in place we will disclose your personal details to the provider in order for the product to be activated. We offer a range of IBG providers via our various trade bodies therefore please see the relevant providers privacy policy for further information on how they handle personal information.

In the event that JKSL or any part of its business is sold to or integrated with another business, we may disclose your personal information to the new owners (and their professional advisers on the transaction) to be used by the new owners and their group of companies in the same ways as set out in this Privacy Policy, including to continue providing you with the same services which are currently provided by JKSL.

Your consent

By providing us the data you consent to the storage of your personal information by us in the manner set out in this privacy policy. Should we change our privacy policy, we will post the changes on our website so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use and under what circumstances we disclose it.

Opt out / Data quality / Access

We will always ask your permission before sending you email marketing information. This ensures you only receive information that you have given us permission to send and are willing to receive.

We provide you with the ability to control whether or not to receive email marketing from us. On promotional emails we always provide an ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of the email which will unsubscribe you from that service.

If you wish to opt out with respect to more than one email address, you must complete a separate request for each email address.

Please note, it is not possible to ‘opt-out’ of receiving communication from us which relate to your projects treatment. This ensures we can always contact you to assist the works you have employed us to undertake.

For the purposes of the Data Protection Act (1998) and the new Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation, the controller of all information collected is Japanese Knotweed Solutions Ltd, Itadori House, Melton Street, Radcliffe, Manchester, M26 4BR.

If you wish to view, delete or amend any of the information we hold about you, this can be done by contacting us in writing at the address provided above. We will not charge for amending or deleting personal information but may charge for viewing information held on you as specified in the Data Protection Act (1998) and the new Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation.

Website visitation tracking

Like most websites, this site uses Google Analytics to track user interaction. We use this data to determine the number of people using our site, to better understand how they find and use our web pages and to improve the functionality of the site.

Although Google Analytics records data such as your geographical location, device, internet browser and operating system, none of this information personally identifies you to us. Google Analytics also records your computer’s IP address which could be used to personally identify you but Google do not grant us access to this.

Disabling cookies on your internet browser will stop Google Analytics from tracking any part of your visit to pages within this website.
